Micro Summer Games 2004
In the world of sports competition, many teams
compete, but only one can walk away holding the first place championship
title.
After competitive match-ups among 12 teams, the
young team "Pwipwi Fairo" from Portland Oregon won the first
place championship title in the men's basketball competition.
"Now that I have finally won the champion, I will return next year
but only as a coach, not a player," said Anderson from team Fairo.
Mr. Anderson has been to three previous tournaments but has never won the
championship.
Fairo started out slow and lost to the LA Green in
the first round. But the talent of its young players and the
determination to win the championship has secured the team the first place
champion as the team matched up again with Pasadena Green in the final.
Pete from the Fairo was named the MVP for the 2004 Men's Basketball
Tournament.
In the women's volleyball competition, "G-Kumi
I" from San Diego has won the championship title as it defeated its
rivalry (Shalom) in the final. The athleticism of these uprising
young San Diego players took the Shalom by surprise. Shalom has been
dominant in previous tournaments, but G-Kumi I from San Diego has proven
the best team this year. Ivory Asor from G-Kumi was named the MVP
for the 2004 Women's Volleyball Tournament.
